England captain Harry Kane will miss his first Bundesliga match of the season on Friday, having been ruled out of Bayern Munich's home game against Borussia Monchengladbach because of a minor calf injury.

Kane, 32, has appeared in all 24 of the German club's league fixtures during the 2025-26 season and is the division's leading scorer with 30 goals.

Bayern boss Vincent Kompany stressed that Kane's injury is "nothing serious" and the former Tottenham striker should be fit for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Italian side Atalanta on 10 March.

Bayern, the defending Bundesliga champions, have an 11-point lead at the top of the table after beating second-placed Borussia Dortmund 3-2 on Saturday.

Kane scored twice in that match to take his tally of club goals in all competitions this season to 45.
